GENERAL ISSUES RELATED TO RELIABILITY AND SAFETY OF THE POWER INDUSTRY
3-12 489
Abstract
In the energy sector the article considers the connection between the oil and gas business and international projects for long-term storage of nuclear materials. It presents some Russian options for establishment of nuclear storages and related geological surveys, in particular, for the North-Western part of Russia.
13-21 380
Abstract
The article deals with issues of application efficiency of oil, air and elegas switches at substations of different stress classes during reconstruction and new construction.
22-26 418
Abstract
The article considers the developed and field tested method for improving the layout design of steam turbine units (STU) that ensures higher reliability of the STU by significant enhancing the quality of design work as well as considerable reduction of designing periods. The method is based on a wide application of advanced information technology.

Abstract
The article presents a design analysis of possible reasons of crack generation in peripheral sections of blades on the last compressor stage in powerful gas turbine units. It shows the possibility of reducing dynamic stress under operating conditions by means of local reshaping of blade peripheral sections, which causes only negligible increasing of aerodynamic losses.
STAFF TRAINING
31-47 434
Abstract
The article deals with issues of simulator training for operating and maintenance personnel of the modern energy industries. It defines the concept of simulator training, requirements for a modern integrated training system; its structure and objectives are described. The article presents key principles of scientific methodology for development of advanced simulators and automatic training courses as well as soft- and hardware platforms for simulators. It describes implementation of technical means of education (TME) at generating facilities of the RF, quality parameters of the TME and determines the quality level index of simulators.
ECONOMIC PROBLEMS IN THE ENERGY SECTOR
48-51 356
Abstract
The article discusses the formalization of certification process of investment projects during the formation of the investment program by the power generating companies in accordance with «The Standard for Portfolio Management» PMI®. The example process of certification of investment projects is reflected in this research.
ENGINEERING, RESEARCH AND CALCULATIONS
52-54 402
Abstract
The article analyzes applications of shaft sensors for diagnostics and adjustment of powerful turbine units at TPP. It describes their application principles and advantages. Shaft travel orbits measured on one side of the trunnion are shown. The article deals with issues of using shaft travel measurements for forecasting rotor stresses; some examples are shown for simulation of dynamic shifts and stresses in a single rotor; recommendations are offered for increasing the number of shaft sensors intended for high precision defectoscopy of rotor assembling in turbine units.
55-58 399
Abstract
In order to analyze destruction of tubes in the air condensing unit (ACU) of Sochi TPP, some design and theoretical studies were performed with relation to hydraulics and hydrodynamics of the ACU collector. Based on the calculation results, possible reasons causing destruction of entry edges of ACU heat transfer tubes were found.

Abstract
The article shows that the use of open type heat supply systems is particularly important now due to the ever-increasing requirements for energy efficiency of all industries of the national economy. Open type heat supply systems are more reliable than closed type ones from the standpoint of sanitary and epidemiology.
69-72 341
Abstract
The article deals with various options for life expectancy forecasting of individual assemblies of a product based on accelerated test results. A new method for life expectancy assessment is proposed.
73-75 402
Abstract
The article presents a method for determining the preset pressure of safety valves at their location without disassembly. The issue is analyzed, and the need is justified to introduce certain changes to the existing regulatory and operating documents related to maintenance, inspection and repairs of spring type safety valves.
