Abstract
The analysis of risk indices relating to the North decentralized energy system was performed. The analysis of damages in case of energy system emergencies allowed us to justify and choose their composition, and propose a risk determination procedure for the North energy system.

Abstract
Formation of new-structure type power stations, City Cogeneration Plant, was displayed as practicable. The scope of city energy-demanding social and technological tasks practicable in a combined production with the heat and electric power generation is assessed along with the possibility and efficiency of such combination.

Abstract
MATLab program usage for the simulation of synchronous hydrogenerator start-up is considered. The provision of safe generator energizing eliminates any damages and emergency operation of the unit.

Abstract
The second part describes issues concerning the index system selection in order to estimate the efficiency of simulators for operations and maintenance personnel at the modern power engineering facilities. It provides techniques for solving problems aimed at searching an optimal solution that meets several criteria irredundant relative to each other, i.e. multicriteria optimization tasks. It is proposed to use a random approach to assess the quality and efficiency of dynamic models of power facilities for operations personnel’s simulators.

Abstract
The system for designing delivery water heaters of steam-turbine plants is considered. The system is based on combining reference data and estimation procedures with design procedures through the extensive use of parameterization.

Abstract
The power engineering system for producing wet-process phosphoric acid (WPA) is reviewed. The heat balance provides a background for estimating energy losses of this production. The energy loss analysis allowed us to propose the new power engineering system for the production reviewed complete with the newly designed heat-engineering unit based on heat pipes (thermal siphons) and secondary steam compressing. There is a feasibility study provided for the developed power engineering system.

Abstract
The theoretical study was performed to determine the influence of various baffles located inside the storage tank vessel on the heat carrier stratification at the tank water intake. The efficiency analysis used the three-dimensional thermal mathematical model.

Abstract
The experimental study results are provided in terms of the thermal-mechanical features of gas exchange flows in piston and combined engines. Some ways of intake and discharge optimization were proposed in order to improve the reliability of engine gas-air systems.

Abstract
The approaches were considered and the expressions were provided for calculating the energy efficiency of heat-mass-exchange apparatus packings. The results were provided for regular and random packings for mass-transfer columns and cooling towers. Most effective and reliable designs and apparatus operation modes were summarized. A number of areas were defined to introduce the contact packings made by Inzhekhim at the Russian petrochemical and power engineering plants.

Abstract
The analysis results were described related to the reliability of main steam turbine assemblies along with the causes of their damages depending on the time since overhaul. Some proposals were provided to change the strategy of turbine overhaul interval selection.

Abstract
The description is provided for the air filtering and conditioning system (AFCS) of the GTE-110 gas turbine compressor. The AFCS performance was assessed in different PGU-325 applications at the “Ivanovskiye Cogeneration Power Plants” branch of JSC “INTER RAO - Electric Power Plants”. Specifications were provided for the AFCS dust collectors, anti-freezing system and air-intake line. Ice control and air handling methods were specified.
