Abstract
In order to substantiate efficiency of the cooling system of twin-flow rotors for the MPC of the К-800-240 LMZ turbine, a method is used that includes calculations of steam flow distribution between the cooling system channels, calculations of temperature fields and stresses in the rotor. The method allows taking into consideration the influence of possible overflow of hot steam from one flow to the other due to pressure difference. Thanks to the cooling system, temperature of metal in the center of the twin-flow rotor decreases by 70°С; consumption of cooling steam is around 2.1 kg/sec.

Abstract
The article presents results of multivariant static and dynamical calculations of different design options of work blades for the GTE 45 turbine. Based on the design and calculation work performed by the personnel of NPO CKTI and ‘Lenturboremont’, a modified design of work blades is offered that allows increasing reliability of blade base joint, which is subjected to maximum loads.

The article substantiates application of pumps with hydroturbine drive in power generation units of TPP and NPP. It describes process and operational advantages of hydroturbine drive. Test results of stages of a driven hydroturbine are shown.

Abstract
The article considers the method of finding the throughput of regulation valves in hydraulic systems in order to achieve the required flow rate value that would be most suitable for regulation quality. The suggested calculation method is directly connected with the pump head value. In particular, the article shows that the designer’s wish to select a valve with low hydraulic resistance in fully opened condition might adversely affect the regulation process.

Abstract
The article dwells upon the topic of modernization of PTVM type water heating boilers; it singles out and describes typical features of some technical solutions already applied. A number of additional measures are suggested in order to achieve higher performance of boilers, fuel and energy efficiency, improvement of ecological indicators as well as enhancement of reliability and serviceability of boiler units as a whole.

The article considers results of structural transformations in nickel allows of various alloying levels, including those with higher chromium content, depending on conditions of heat treatment and ageing in laboratory conditions or during operation, structural transformations on the surface, including formation of oxide phases under different conditions (depending on temperature, time and environment), phase reactions in steels of various alloying levels depending on temperature and time, phase transformations in coatings of gas turbine blades.

Abstract
The article presents test results for two nickel based monocrystalline alloys ZhS32 and ZhS 36 with different orientations of their crystallographic axes at various temperatures and cycle durations. The tests were performed on flat samples. The data obtained allowed finding the correlation between patterns (nature) of destruction (crystallographic and non-crystallographic) and test modes. In order to determine the stressed-deformed state of monocrystalline samples, finite element calculations were carried out using ‘physical’ models of plasticity and creepage, taking into consideration the fact that non-elastic deformation of monocrystals takes place in slipping systems, and is defined by crystallographic orientation. The article suggests a modification of deformation criterion of thermal fatigue strength that allows foreseeing the quantity and quality of the destruction process of blades made of monocrystalline alloys. The article deals with issues of structural stability and properties of monocrystalline alloys during long service life at high temperature.

Abstract
The article presents the notion of reliability of hydraulic units. Based on static data, some complex reliability indices have been obtained for hydraulic units with axial and radial-axial turbines these data are recommended to be used as basic reliability samples of any newly built equipment.

The article analyzes heat and power supply situations in the cities of the RF. It deals with special features of district heating systems in most Russian cities and towns. The optimum summarized capacity is determined for municipal heat and power plants (HPP). Equipment is selected according to the respective heat and electrical loads.
