Abstract
The article has some information about the history of establishment (on the basis of electric engineering courses founded in 1918 by Electrical Engineer E.V.Galkin), growth and development of the system of further professional training in the energy industry of Russia. Based on the factual materials obtained from the state archives, it contains some names of people involved in the educational process during implementation of the GOELRO plan for establishment of the united energy system of the Soviet Union as well as recent reorganization processes in the industry.

Abstract
The article analyzes the correlation between failure frequency of switches and their adjacent switches. Variation ranges of relevant variables are determined. The article shows the areas in which distribution gear circuits have a material impact on failure frequency of switches.

Abstract
The article presents advanced processes and equipment for efficient combustion of natural gas and coal at TPP that ensure high inflammation stability and complete burning of the fuel, while at the same time the standard level of toxic emissions and reliable operation of generation units are maintained. It describes the experience of implementing the above processes at some domestic TPP. Some key directions of their improvement and development in the national energy industry are discussed.

Abstract
The article presents results of studies dedicated to formation on the surface of polymeric insulators of the moisture that determines moisture discharge tension.
32-36 398
Abstract
The article considers one of the most important functions of smart energy systems, i.e., management of technical condition of power engineering equipment.

Abstract

The article presents results of studies and comparison of properties of four electrical engineering materials intended for production of high voltage transformer bushings. Studies of tracking and erosion resistance, water repellency, water absorption, oil resistance, electrical strength and inflammation resistance are performed.

Abstract
The article presents some advanced methods and equipment for ensuring explosion safe operation of dust preparation systems in boiler plants. It deals with key factors affecting generation and spreading of dust explosions as well as with the way they should be taken into consideration during design and operation stages. The article presents some experience of improving explosion safety of dust handling systems at domestic TPP. It shows key directions of improving explosion safety based on some new developments.

Abstract
The article studies the influence of non-linear loads in power supply systems of office buildings on the level of high harmonics. A methodology is developed for selection of positions for limiting filter installation.
51-54 363
Abstract
The article deals with sources and reasons of partial discharges in the stator coil insulation. A data base is created containing typical standards and quantitative parameters of partial discharge specters in electrical machine coils taking into consideration test voltages, ageing time and positions of coil defects.

Abstract
The article considers a professional approach to studies of psychological qualities necessary for professional activities of managers and foremen of district electrical networks. It discovers some important qualities related to key functions of both positions and creates psychological portraits of successful personnel. The article lists certain problems and issues to be resolved by means of the above approach.

Abstract
Renovation of district heat generation units with Т-250/300-23,5 turbines is possible during retrofitting of CHPP performed via reconstruction (expansion), modernization and/or reconstruction of the equipment as well as during repairs.

Abstract
The article uses the example of a 300 MW coal dust generation unit to consider possible cost minimization during operation of the generation plant after transition to the repair schedule based on technical condition. A mathematical model is developed that allows calculating the optimum interrepair resource of the generation unit in case of different types of reference fuel consumption growth during its operation. The article shows that if the reference fuel consumption grows by 3%, and if the machine has been running for 30,000 hours after overhauling, the time for the next overhaul of the equipment should be scheduled on the basis of safety and reliability parameters, irrespective of reduced efficiency of the equipment.
