Abstract
The Federal Government of Germany initiated the energy turnaround with the German energy concept in 2010. The German energy and climate targets aim at a significant reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. It is planned to reduce 80% of greenhouse gas emission until 2050 (compared to the year 1990). To reach these aims the energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies have to rise. Meanwhile the intermediate goals were identified, the targets for achieving a certain level of share of renewable energy in power generation and other final energy (gross) for 2020, 2030 and 2050 were set. The Same goals were identified to reduce the consumption of primary and final energy resources, and power consumption. The first steps are already successful. Therefore 25 % of the electrical energy was produced by renewable energy in 2014. Furthermore the final energy consumption per passenger kilometer in the transport sector decreased by approximately 35 % between 1990 and 2013. Also a decoupling between economic growth and energy consumption is recognized.
