Author Guidelines

The magazine is included into the SCADT's List of major reviewed scientific magazines and publications, which shall publish the key scientific findings of theses for academic degrees of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences.

Requirements for articles offered for publication in Nadezhnost’ i Bezopasnost’ Energetiki

1. Acceptance of papers for publication is subject to scientific review results. The editorial board reserves the right for editorial correction. Scientific and technical materials are published free of charge, no author’s fee is payable.

2. Rules for submission of manuscripts.

• Articles shall be submitted to Nadezhnost’ i Bezopasnost’ Energetiki Magazine in electronic form only to editor@sigma08.ru. Please do not mail your articles by registered letters! Only agreements signed by all authors are sent by mail. Dear post-graduates and applicants: please send your articles to the editorial office well in advance!

• The package of e-mailed materials shall include following: ‘Copyright ‘License Agreement’ duly filled in and signed by all the authors of the article. Two hard copies of the prepared agreements shall be also sent to the editorial office of Nadezhnost’ i Bezopasnost’ Energetiki Magazine located at: NPO ‘Energobezopasnost’, LLC, office 706, Build.6, 125 ‘Zh’ Varshavskoye Shosse, Moscow, 117587 (editorial office of Nadezhnost’ i Bezopasnost’ Energetiki Magazine Any manuscripts of articles submitted without signing the respective copyright assignment agreements are not accepted for review by the editorial board of the magazine. If your article is rejected by the editorial board of the magazine for some reason, the agreement becomes null and void automatically.

The editorial board of the magazine takes decisions regarding publication of articles at its sole discretion. Execution of the agreement by the author means that the author has read and acknowledged the provisions thereof. Sending a manuscript to the editorial office is deemed to be an acceptance, and means that the author has read the rules of article publication in the magazine, agrees and undertakes to comply with these rules (acceptance).

Form of the License Agreement (DOWNLOAD).

• When an article is submitted to the magazine, the author warrants that it has not been submitted to any other magazine, has not been published anywhere, and is not awaiting publication.

• After the editorial office has sent an issue for makeup, emails requesting to correct errors are sent to authors; receipt of these emails must be confirmed.

• Final versions of articles are emailed to authors. Authors may visit the editorial office to collect author’s (printed) copies of the magazine. Author’s (printed) copies are not sent by mail.

3. Articles shall meet the following requirements:

The material of a paper must be consistent with the profile of the journal and be presented quite clearly.

The papers submitted to the editorial board are subjected to double-blind review. The key criteria of expedience of publishing are relevance of the subject, information value, scientific novelty.

The paper is submitted in an electronic format (prepared in the MS Word text processor). The volume of a paper must not exceed 14 pages including text, tables, graphics, all the required information in the English language.

The first page of a paper is to provide indication of: UDC identifier, title of paper, last names of the authors (the name of the author to communicate with is to be marked with an asterisk, along with specification of his/her email address), names and postal addresses of institutions (street, building No., postal code, city, country), where the authors work, in the Russian and English languages. The paper is to include: abstract (up to 200–250 words); key words (5-6); introduction presenting an overview and statement of specific objective of the study; main part; conclusion, which summarizes the key results obtained with statement of their novelty, advantages and applicability options; references. The abstract, the key words and the references are to be submitted in both Russian and English.

The abstract is to be informative (contain “a concentrate” of all the paper sections – the introduction (with statement of the objective of the study), the methodology, the main part and the conclusion).

Any text (except special symbols and Greek letters) shall be typed using Times New Roman, font size – 12 points, with a 1.5 space. Lines within a paragraph shall not be divided by means of carriage return character. Division of lines within a paragraph by means of the Enter key is not allowed, either.

Formulas are inserted using the Math Tipe utility integrated into MS Word. Latin symbols are typed in italics, and Greek symbols are typed using straight letters. Numbers are only assigned to formulas referenced in the text.

Dimensions of all the parameters adopted in the paper must comply with the International System of Units (SI). The value of a physical quantity and its unit of measurement are to be separated with a blank space (except for % and °С). Explanation of any physical parameter (and any other signs. for example, abbreviations) shall be provided when they are first mentioned in the text. Listing of physical parameters used at the beginning or at the end of the article is not allowed.

Illustrations and figures shall be mentioned in the text, provided with some legend, and made either on a white background in the PC, or drawn and high quality scanned (recommended resolution: Halftones (color or grayscale) – 225–300 dpi, Bitmap – 600–1,200 dpi). Please do not add any grid or gray background at the rear of any graphs and diagrams. Illustrations shall be separately attached to articles in their original formats (*.tif, *.jpg, *.bmp, *.cdr, *.eps, etc.). The number of figures, including their splitting into sub-figures, shall not exceed 5–6.

All the pictures are numbered and accompanied with captions. Fragments of a picture are designated with lower case Latin letters in italics – a, b, etc. Image-related captions, text fragments in pictures are provided in the Russian and English languages. Any abbreviations and designations contained in pictures must be expanded in the caption.

Tables shall have titles. Tables are assigned figure numbers according to the order of their appearance in the text. Titles follow table numbers. All columns within a table shall have titles and be divided by means of vertical lines, and any digital materials shall clearly match the lines. In case the text contains one titled table, no number is assigned to the table Tables must not duplicate graphics. All the tables should be referred to in the text. The name and the contents of tables are presented in the Russian and English languages.

Cited references are provided in a general list (numbers without square brackets) at the end of the article; references in the list shall have the same order as the respective references in the text. Any reference literature is specified in the text in square brackets. References to any articles from foreign magazines and books published abroad shall be typed in their original language. It is preferable to refer mostly (up to 70%) to domestic and foreign magazine articles published within the last 2-3 years. References to any articles that have not been published as well as to any internal corporate reports and conference materials that are not publicly available are not allowed. It is not recommended to give references to materials of conferences, articles from electronic journals having no DOI identifier, training manuals, web resources. References to unpublished works, in-house reports of companies, or materials of conferences inaccessible to general public are not allowed. Preferably, the number of references should be at least 10; self-citation should amount to no more than 20%.

Articles shall be completed with certain concrete conclusions that would laconically (item by item) state results of the study and suggestions of the author based on the stated material.

Papers presenting results of internal research must be approved for being made public.

If necessary, the name of a foundation that provided financial support, or the level and name of a program, under which the study is done, may be specified at the end of the main text in the Russian and English languages.

Authors are liable for submission to the editorial board of papers previously published or accepted for publishing by other publications.

Papers failing to meet the above requirements shall not be accepted for consideration.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.
  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of one line spacing, font Times New Roman, 12 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).
  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
  3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work (See The Effect of Open Access).

 

Privacy Statement

Specified when registering the names and addresses will be used solely for technical purposes of a contact with the Author or reviewers (editors) when preparing the article for publication. Private data will not be shared with other individuals and organizations.
